£6 a month i would be angry, but not £6 a year.....

That is exactly the sort of attitude that brought us things like "safety" camera's, CRB checks (which mean f**k all), and a whole host of other crap that most of the populace readily accept these days (although it wouldn't have been tolerated 20 years ago).

then it will rise again and again and again. just like petrol does. the taxman knows people cant live without broadband and cant do feck all about it.

beer, wine, cigs, food some of the pleasures of the working man and what really friggs me off is when some bugger dies and leaves some wedge to someone they tax that ffs Angry

Of course it will rise, and the reason it will rise is because the majority of the populace lack the gonads to stop the man from riding roughshod over them.

Why do we lack the nads we had (say) 30 years ago?

Simple....any form of protest was made illegal quite a while ago (unless it's the filth protesting over their wages).....think about it  Wink

1984 is the nulab instruction manual.

As to IMP or whatever it is called - get an offshore email account.

Anyone notice that Darth Meddlesom has also granted himself more powers?

I would not be surprised if they tried to cancel the next election - this would mean civil war I think.

It's long overdue (and very easily do-able), but no-one has the 'dangle berries' to stand up anymore.

That I don't know - screw enough people and it will happen.

I am actually starting to get political over this - reading up on the parties ect, all parties have some good policies.

As I have said before - would the military and Police support the government or the people?

Unfortunately what can you do but ignore new laws, make it difficult to track what you do?

All I can think of worth doing is what the Jedi do best - I think you know what I mean and who I mean. Lips Sealed Lips Sealed

If the public kicked off properly, there aren't enough old bill & military (who have shit guns, no boots, and no bullets) to stop it.

Ask the military members on here - I think they would possibly lead!

And what did they do any different to any one else, other than protest march?  Didn't withdraw their labour, i.e. strike.  Police, like the military and unlike fire and ambulance, cannot strike....  But the rank & file can...

I think that Fire and Ambulance being able to strike is wrong.

However I also feel that people in these positions should be paid what they are worth.

Ask the military members on here - I think they would possibly lead!

If we are talking full balls on scenario, they would be daft at the very least if they decided to side with their paymasters.

While they would have the advantage of certain skills (ie, battle planning), you have to bear in mind that....

1. More than a fair number of Joe Public (and most definately "subversive" party leaders) are also capable of strategic planning.
Also add in to the equation that the protecting force will be bound by god knows how many EU & PC regulations regarding how they do the job, while the "subversive" won't give a toss......the outcome is obvious IMO.

2. The physical headcount (government forces vs public).

They marched after it was declared illegal to do such a thing....didn't see any of them getting nicked though.

so if you and your sparkie pals also went on a march, after it being declared illegal, apparently, then you would also expect mass arrests?  think not....
