V6 air box clips?

We serviced the car last saturday, and when we came to put in the new air filter there was only one clip holding it together, and with the new filter fitted it won't close down tightly.

I went to the dealers today to get new clips, and on the screen it only shows the one I have fitted, none at the back by the inner wing, which is where the air box is not properly seated. Should there be some clips here or how does it fit please? and if it does have other clips, has anyone got some to sell me please?

Has anyone got a diagram of the filter box etc they can post up. so I can see what's what?

Dec 2009 at 18:27 I wonder if they are the same on the Vectra 1700 diesel? my son in laws vectra is parked on my back garden at the moment with no MOT on it, I could borrow those for now...till I get some. Have to have a look tomorrow.

Hi,
My V6 2.5 petrol and probably all the V's have 5 and they all look the same. Have a look at the top of the airbox from the front of the car and there should be 2 at the front, 1 at the right, 1 at the back and 1 to the left. you can see the raised lips where the clip locates as they lock.
If they are lost visit the scrappy like I did.

Dec 2009 at 08:34 As mentioned Ray, I checked and as you say there should be 5, I only have 1, I went to a local scrappy yesterday, but no omega's, or any vauxhalls at all. Might try and get to another scrappy today, if the ones on the vectra don't fit. Got a busy day though, what with DVLA eye test this afteroon for field vision.

Dec 2009 at 09:35 OK, If you try SouthWest Vauxhall spares on their Ebay page you should be ok. They do nothing but break Vauxhalls and I have had loads from them and all witout any problems at all.
