Running temp and diag readings
10. Dec 2009 at 09:12

Any ideas anyone?

Plugged into diagnostics yesterday when warm and at idle:

Idle speed hunted 735-780
MAF readings up down, all over the place
Running temp 72 degrees
No EGR detected

What were you using to look at the live data?

Was the actual idle all over the place or just the readings? (735-780 doesn't seem a huge spread of readings to me).

MAF is typically pretty stable at around 12 kg/h at idle IME.

Was the dash gauge reading roughly 72 degrees? (I'd say around 85 is more typically when fully warmed up).

2.2 running temp is 85 on the dash when warm, but according to tech2 live data its 'true' temp is somewhat higher (around 88/89)

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

What I mean is that seems on the low side-should it not be 85ish?  Is something wrong?

It now owes me £2500++++++ along with 2 months of every spare minute laour-and is still waiting for the trackrods, steering idler, front ball joints to be fitted, now it looks like it needs a sensor or two and a thermostat.

I know, I know-before you tell me I could have had a mint 3.2 with Bose, CID, LPG etc I KNOW!!!!!

I will only drive a car I feel is as good as new, 100% safe and completely rattle free-this is why I am poor  Grin
