Why would he plead guilty if he didn't do it????? If it was me in that position I'd use every penny I had and could borrow to prove that I was innocent rather than say I did something I didn't!!!! Angry

If you are refering to the 'Cleveland Abuse Case', the womans name was Dr Marietta Higgs. She was responsible for having dozens of children removed from their families based on nothing more than a 'theory' she had discussed with colleagues about the way the Anus dilates when an object is inserted AND HAD EXPERIMENTED ON HER OWN CHILDREN AT HOME!!!!!
This woman caused untold & everlasting heartache & trauma to the families concerned. It became a National scandal, and more money was spent on the Police Investigations, Social Services involvement & the subsequent Government Enquiry than would be spent on Child Protection Issues in this Part of the Country for Decades to come! IMHO this woman deserved everything she had coming to her and more, and should have herself been jailed for child abuse & struck from the medical register!! But she wasn't, because the 'Establishment' covered her and its own tracks and shortcomings were quietly ignored and shoved 'under the table'. Your post shows distinct similarities with the mindset of the very people you deride. Smiley

Yes, that goes without saying, but I haven't heard of any other female paediatrician being attacked within this context in recent memory (other than the one mentioned) Sad

I don't dispute your point in the slightest ... but it is very easy to make assumptions .. and a lot are being made in this thread ... including mine that he was not refering to the case you mentioned .... it is just that I remember the South wales lady .. and not the Higgs one you mention .... as I was told many times while in the mob
