2003 2.2 petrol service info.
12. Dec 2009 at 14:20

Can anyone help please, I have recently bought a 2.2 omega but it does not have a service book with it, I have been told that it has had the cam belt changed but I would like to know what to look for, also the service intervals for this vehicle how often are they.
First saloon I have had for many years seems great after years of 4x4's, fuel economy is great.

Many thanks

Cambelts need to be done every 40k miles, service intervals i think are every 20k but should be done evry year if you're not doing 20k per year.

Cambelt is 40k/4yr (no matter what garage/book says). Important.

Stated service interval is 20k, but thats a ludicrous thing to keep fleet managers happy.  Best thing you can do is give it fresh oil every 4k or so, and air/fuel filters every 2 yrs. Coolant every 2 years.

It's not usually the belt that lets go, it's the tensioner. Look around this section, there is another thread on this subject.

Or the water pump on a 2.2, as it's driven by the cam belt.

Auto addict, looks like you pull a tin tent with your omega, how do you find it, it will be our first trip towing with ours over the new year period.
