V6 oil cooler inspection
12. Dec 2009 at 16:07

I've just changed my HBV which may or may not have been the long term "leak" I am looking for.

While half the car was dismantled I thought I would clean the breathers. They were fine as only done recently.

Looking into the murky depths of the V it all looks cruddy as you would expect on a 12 year old high mileage car but no obvious signs of any leaks. I suppose a small leak would just get boiled away by heat.

Question. If I want to have a look(not remove) at the oil cooler are there any seals, O rings etc that will have to be replaced by removing the inlet manifold assembly to get a better look? This is my only form of transport and i don't want to be stuck.

Reused all o-rings on inlet manifold and the "spacer plate" below it ok when I changed the Estate oil cooler.
