Blanking plate
16. Dec 2009 at 15:54

I need a blanking plate, to fit to the plenum, blank off where the EGR valve would use connect to the plenum.

Time is very tight, so I'd gladly pay, if someone could make me one.

Anyone fancy earning a few quid?  Thumbs Up!

Where are you tying the EGR up afterwards?  Undecided

Well, I might just fit the blanking plate, to seal the plenum, and then put the valve etc in it's original position

If you go into any vauxhall dealership they will sell you a blanking plate. As they have them as a stock item. Then instead of the gaskit you would replace it with this and the egr valve bolts straight on through it again. If you do not have the egr valve connected the engine management light will be constantly on  Wink

I think you guys are thinking of the EGR blanking plate, and not the one needed to go against the plenum?

You seem rather technically clued up tonight, Maria??   Wink

James - its a blanking plate that fits between teh EGR & plenum so that, on casual inspection, all appears normal.....

I think I know what you mean...

removing the egr setup, so you need to block off the pipework completely, and just leave an egr connected to keep ecu happy....

ie not just the standard blanking plate / coke car between egr and pipework....

That's the one - one to  go on the plenum...  Thumbs Up!

Thinking about it, you could fit the EGR as usual, without the wiggly pipe from the manifold, and all would probably still be happy....

Why not just fit the blanking plate and keep the EGR and connections?  You trying for the 2.6/3.2 look?

I fitted an EGR blanking late to our Elite.
The car now uses more fuel (but the car is mainly used on short trips every day), is that normal?
