Easiest way is to either lift the back seats or boot carpet there will be an inspection plate for the fuel pump and level indicator undo that lift out the pump then sython from there saves knackering the pump from the lack of oil in the fuel Wink

gonna have my kenneth,i would drain it given the amount you put in and what the mix would be if you brimmed it.the days of the ole cavs and escorts that would put up with it are gone in my opinion the modern engine has too many sensors and ecu,s and electrical contacts(sensor to computer detect petrol, computer"oooh scream like a girl and shutdown shutdown limp mode"then yer crawl around till yer replace a diode atŁ946.26 which all it did is control speed yer blinker flashed at Angry Angry
bloody ell i went on there abit didnt i  Grin Grin Grin

There is another option as a very last resort, if the fuel pipe between the fuel filter and pump is flexible rubber, you could cut it to allow the pump to pump the fuel out into a container, then put a piece of copper or alloy tubing in between the cut section to re-join it, clamp it with jubilee clips.

I say chuck a couple of jerrycans of diesel in it, get it to a garage and brim it. The fuel system has been sitting with petrol in it now, so the damage (if any - unlikely) is done IMHO.

Got it sorted guys had someone come out with an electric pump thing cost 150  Sad bit of a pi**er week before and all that but hey ho won't make the same mistake again.

If it was my car and not the wifes i would have just brimmed it and run it through but she didn't seem that keen.

I said can we afford it and she said yes, which means either im getting FA for xmas or shes been stock pilling cash i don't know about Grin Grin

Glad to hear you've sorted it, bit of a pain forking out that sort of money for it, but as you say, you're not likely to make the same mistake again.

Ran a '36 Austin 12 on paraffin during the petrol shortage in '56. Started on petrol then ran, well walked, on paraffin. Don't recall any serious difficulties, apart from avoiding PC49. Grin Grin Grin
