Eurostar managers - what a shower!

Seems like a lot of people have been inconvenienced these last few days by a bit of bad weather etc (Nobody died though you would think so listening to people moaning on the TV).

What I find staggering in this modern day and age of sophistication is the inability to give Customers (paying at that) information about what is happening. Gatwick airport for example with a bit of snow.

The latest is the debacle over Eurostar train in the channel tunnel. Wrong kind of cold? Wrong kind of air? It matters not really. Mechanical problems do crop up - it is life. What is unacceptable is the lack of info to the customers and lack of a plan. I am no expert on trains but couldn't a diesel(steam!?) loco have been desptached to "pull" the first train out of the tunnel and yes I know they aren't supposed to travel the "wrong way " on a line? Couldn't the decision maker have sent the rescue train to London to discharge the first lot of unfortunates and then send it back for the next lot rather than make the first lot wait a further THREE hours.

Too many people focussed on solving problems and not enough customer focus methinks. I bet no one gets fired though. They never do.

Well said Varche the ineptitude of British management is well documented and it seems that as long as a problem occurs in working hours then all will apparently be cured.
It seems that the staff had no knowledge of the out of hours procedures in the event of this type of emergency. Well so much for staff training. I now have no chance of persuading the wife to go through the tunnel Dover here I come Huh

I thought they said on the radio it was the French trains coming from France that failed.

Another managerial farce today. Promising people they would put four emergency trains on and then cancelling them. No service tomorrow either.

Went to London on the train today to meet up with some old work buddies, reminded me how much i hate the trains, slow, not very comfy, have to sit next to other people, and hear what their day was like.

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine
