Broken toe??
22. Dec 2009 at 14:57

15 year old Son was on a shelf in B&Q getting something down anyway, as he pulled it off the hook he slipped and kicked the shelf complained about his toe hurting a bit, anyway it's swollen already after about an hour, mrs. seems to think it could be broke, but he don't want to go up A&E, any doctors in the house?

Hurts if he moves it too.

The only way to really find out is to have it x-rayed. Thumbs Up!

Not a lot they can do with a broken toe apart from xray to confirm it as far as I know, amd re-lighn it if bad (mabbe strp it up a bit.  But no plaster leg cast for a broken toe.

Reason I say that is an ex accidently kicked/caught a table leg and found out she had broke her toe.

Broke or not. A&E won't do anything for it. Unfortunatly broken toes have no treatment apart from pain killers. Broke enough of them in my time to know Cry

You could try & see the Dr or the practice nurse Thumbs Up!

As previously said not a lot to be done for broken toes if its a straight forward break. Worth getting it X-rayed just to check theres no complications though. Sooner rather than later in case it begins to heal in the wrong position! Thumbs Up!
Sprained toes can be just as nasty pain wise. Sad

I think all he can do is keep of it as much as possible untill it's healed.

I think I broke mine once when I kicked a car accidently as I was flying over it after it turned right in front of me without indicating and just as I started to overtake on a GS1000, smashed all the front of the bike too.

My toe hurt for ages, months. Funny thing it was the only thing I hurt in the incident.

He's determined not to go, he says it'll be busy because of all the people that've fallen over on the ice and sitting on the computer makes more sense to him  Grin He's not really bothered I'll see how it is in the morning Thumbs Up!

Would at least get an x-ray. Cousin of mine chipped her toe, thought all was well and left it --- years later it started giving her hell and she ended up needing an op ( might add t'was the big toe, so more prone to damage and important for balance).

Is there anything else it might be in that position - a twig or a new root, for example.
