My ignition key is very tight to get out of ignition I was going to lubricate but thought I should get some advice first. Should I lubricate and if  so what should I use.

Hi
I lobbed some WD40 into mine and the door lock. Have done the same with our Astra for years, never had a problem.!  Thumbs Up!

It's not just you Bixy and it's not a dig, but lots of others to that keep saying WD40 to lubricate things. WD40 is a water displacer, not a lubricant or penetrating fluid. It's useless for anything other than displacing water! Use a good quality lubricant on your ignition barrel. I use 3in1 PTFE spray to lube and PlusGas as a penetrating fluid.

It's best to lubricate locks with something that won't go gungy and make matters worse IMHO. I would avoid most oils for this reason.

Scraping some graphite from a pencil onto the key and then inserting it might be worth a try.

PTFE lubricant might be worth a try?

Don't be tempted to mix different lubricants though!

I agree with all, WD40 is only fish oil and is only good as a water displacer or a cleaner, i should know i used to work with them. If ever you go the the States get Some PD Blaster this stuff is unreal.
