My MV6 grille had a massive stone chip and crack in it, so I decided to look at doing summat different.
Not wanting to pay silly money for an Irmscher grille (sooo passe, dahling!), not a fan of the Steinmetz "cheesegrater" grille - but liking the look of the facelift grille with the chrome "stripe" as it makes the Omega look a little wider.
I bought an Opel grille from German ebay for £30(ish) posted.
I also bought a new griffin from British ebay for under a tenner.
Removed the Opel Blitz from the German grille, chopped out the centre of the Blitz but retained it's circle (new Griffin a tad smaller diameter) and outer tags (to line up with the stripe on the grille), then chopped the fitting lugs from the new Griffin and stuck the Griffin in it's place.
There's a little bit of white plastic showing (hard to get a pic of though) where the outer tags of the old Blitz meet the circle, but hey - it's not a new car is it!
