GCRN - Free day today.
21. Mar 2010 at 22:33

We had a free day today at the centre....as part of Nottingham radio 'One Big Sunday'

We left a collection tin for donations and gave free train rides etc.....1500 people went through the gate.

So, how much do you think we got in donations?

Having previously restored and run a preserved bus myself, plus being a member of the West Somerset Railway Association, I'd have probably given at least a tenner.

Our usual entourage to such a venue entails myself and Mrs Sethsmate, plus the two youngest grandsons.
So, I'd probably have donated 30 quid, as I'd consider that a brilliant-value day out, and value the voluntary and hard-grafting efforts that go into providing such an event.

We're certainly no 'free-loaders' and appreciate these things.

Wink Wink Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

They look after no.1 and don't think any further on the whole, unfortunately. Angry

It doesn't take much to consider what the value of a freebie is, and to contribute accordingly. Sad
