Well, an auto requires little or no skill. The government (DVLA) accept this, if you have an auto only licence they don't deem you fit to drive a proper car with a manual gearbox

Auto's can be ok, and the Omega auto doesn't have a half bad gearbox...but there are much better auto's out there. It seems such a shame to have a slower, less reliable, heavier on fuel Omega when you can just have one with a clutch.
However, just round town or slow speed driving, I would happily admit the auto wins hands down...no contest.
