Tunnie's LPG Fitting - Front End Pics(56k WARNING)
27. Mar 2010 at 22:18

Some pictures of the front end installation...

Air intake and Throttle Bodies Removed (Interesting use for Tunnie's hat! Grin)
...

HBV "Helter Skelter" pipe cut and connectors fitted
...

Inlet Manifold Removed and Cable tray scrapped for ease of re-fitting in limited space
...

Existing loom tidied up
...

Sorting the loom, it looks worse than it is!
...

Getting there... The loom is all pointing in the correct directions!
...

The liquid feed pointed the wrong way so a 90 degree elbow was required (thanks to Teilo for speedy delivery)... This needs thread lock too
...

Vaporiser in place (temporarily) to check all connections before permanent fixing
...

The extra wiring will fit in the 4 pot cable tray Thumbs Up!
...

Digging out the required wires in one of the ECU plug
...

There it is! Grin
...

And soldered, ready for heat shrinking (Don't look Kevin, not my best joint Embarrassed)...

The 2 required from the other ECU plug
...

Apart from the extra wires (through the grommet) you wouldn't know I'd been in there Thumbs Up!
...

The wires for the switch in the cabin ready for connecting up
...

All soldered up and heat shrink sorted. This was then taped into a loom and pulled back through
...

The fitted switch, showing full tank and running on LPG Thumbs Up!
...

The finished engine bay... Larger picture for better viewing Thumbs Up!
...

Hopefully there'll be a How 2 written up soon Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

Good stuff LD, RE my hat, i was going to use paper towels but i felt it would disappear down the inlet, used to use a old dish cloth, but could not find that. So my hat filled the purpose!  Grin

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

LD's work is outstanding, remove the injectors, and bar the filler / tank, could not tell LPG was installed!

Tunnie and Paul, please accept my apologies for not being able to make it. I was rather dissapointed I couldn't make it.
This has been an interesting thread, I now nothing of LPG at all, well only the very basics of what it is in basic form...so it has been an interesting read.

No worries Josh... Was a shame as I was looking forward to meeting you, but selling cars is far more important Wink Thumbs Up!

I may be down your way next weekend for a meeting if you're around? Might be able to meet up Undecided

Awesome job...  Looks tidier in the engine than mine ever has, even before I started "playing" about, pretending to be a mechanic..

I really do stand in Awe...

Think Tunnie found my attention to detail a little "Anally Retentive" at times... Especially when he was trying to bodge something Grin Grin
