Petrol is around 1 pound exactly here cem,
Dieesel is around 0.95 pounds
I have no idea what are the prices in Italy, cause usually tank is refilled before crossing the border so no need to fill it in Italy
The difference would be around 60 to 65 pounds in fuel.
Our Octavia is extremly reliable car, didn't have any problems with it in all 10 years of ownership ( but there is nothing to break down inside I admitt  Grin)
The seats are the problem.
After a little driving on a worse road my back is killing me.
And in mig I could drive whole day without problems

If the difference is only £60... Take the Omega Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

Must confess, I'm having a similar dilemma. Going to Italy in September and flights (which are EasyJet so not most comfortable) and hire car will cost almost as much as driving down Undecided Undecided

You are lucky it isn't in the winter, probably you would freeze over there if it were a windy day.

Well the decision is to take the mig. If I get any decent photeos will post them when I come back
