Oil Suction Gun Tool
02. Apr 2010 at 23:09

Hello All,Ive found a nice piece of kit that I think will allow me to remove autobox fluid,a pint at a time without sump removal. My intention is to replace 2 pints when I change the engine oil. This hopefully will help offset some of the extra stress caused by towing our caravan. Its called an oil suction gun and is made by Hilka. It only cost 5.90 from my local friendly motor accessory dealer.Looks to be well made from metal, not plastic,it says perfect for transmissions, diffs, gearcases, lower units, crankcases,no priming required. After seeing all the posts about autobox fluid just thought some of you would like to know that such a tool is available. Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

I use one of these ... not brilliant but you can get a lot out before you drop the sumps .. Smiley

I have a 6 litre pela pump.

It's super.

It will suck up any amount of oil  Smiley

I can put it in the filler hole of an autobox sump, and drain the large sump.

Even if you're still removing the sump - still makes the job a lot less messy Smiley

You still have to remove it if you're doing the filter, etc - but it makes the job a lot less messy

Cost me £50 i think Thumbs Up!

Just to add, this won't drain the front sump - this needs to be dropped Thumbs Up!

OK I realise it won't be possible to remove all the fluid. Only at the most the large sump, but when I recently tried to do a complete fluid change and filter change I was unhappy that a complete change wasn't possible due to the old fluid left in the torque converter, so as already said when I do an engine oil change I can always easily remove a quantity  of autobox fluid and replace it with new fluid.Just to say the tool mentioned by Entwood is very similar to the one I got Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!
