Ashton Motor Factors (in Long Ashton) did me a set of rear discs, pads, shoes and a fitting kit (all the spings etc.) for £70 incl VAT.

That was perhaps 18 months ago and the shoes weren't much cop, but the rest was absolutely fine.

That was for a 2.5 V6.

Heppened to my car too. It was nothing to do with the actual disc or the pads or even the mechanism.
On the guard behind the disc there is two little slots. There are two springs that come from the brake shoes in the centre to these slots.

What happened on mine is the slots wore away and the  springs were pulling through.
I Fixed the problem by makeing two new slots and it worked.

Might be the problem
