Admin - please move to sale/wanted, Thank you.

Pre-facelift 2.5TD (BMW) rattling quickly traced to loose black plastic cover on top of engine, I think its called the "Manifold cover"?

There should be 3 black plastic screw fasteners, the one at the rear and one of the 2 at the front are missing causing it to flap about loudly ... actually really loud!. I don't have anything in the junk box that fits.

If you can provide, please PM me.

Payment available via paypal/bank transfer/cheque/postal order/coins sellotaped to an old Christmas card.

Thanks for reading  Smiley

The front 2 are plastic, the rear fastener is a 10mm nut and washer on a double ended bolt which in turn is bolted to the rocker cover. My rear fastener was missing when I got mine so I used a 2" M6 (10mm head) bolt up from below the hole with a washer either side and 2 threadlocked nuts tightened against each other. The just put a washer and nut on the remainder that was sticking through the hole in the cover. If that doesn't make sense then let me know and I'll do you a photo Thumbs Up!

Many thanks Welung666, I could not see anything in the rear deeper hole so assumed it was a screw.

Maybe the bolt has dropped through in the same way as yours had. I'll try and get a better look and sort something out.
