Intermittent problem ...
21. Oct 2010 at 07:08

Hi Guys ... Have a 2003 2.2 TDi Elite Estate. 112K trouble free miles from new and serviced by Vauxhall every year. Over the last 2 weeks or so I am getting the engine management light coming on, not long after start up say 5 minutes down the road. This then seems to govern the engine revs to around 2K. I have found that if I pull over and switch off wait about 30 secs restart all seems fine for a while and then the same thing occurs. On other days all is fine and no indication of this issue. At first thought it was only when started from cold (so possible Glow plugs - changed at last service) but it sometimes happens when warm. No other symptoms as car has always run faultlessly. Before I put it into the garage any words of wisdom would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance  Thumbs Up!

Chris

Sounds like crank sensor, see http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1273011196, should not be too dear even as a garage job.

Hi Guys just for completeness I finally got to the bottom of this problem. It turned out to be a faulty waste gate solenoid on the turbo. With testing and parts it was £160 to fix. Thanks for replies
