Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

just a reply to alarming man,I assume you,ve never owned a 4x4 I,ve had 3 Pajeros and although the Omega is a fantastic motor It will not perform as good as a proper 4x4 I tow a 21'0 ABI Twin axle and although I towed it from Scotland to Birmingham when I purchased it in no way performed as good as the Paj fully loaded throughout France and the Uk did,nt know I had it on the back. So before anyone starts shouting at me I,ve had two Migs present one 2.6 cdx great car but although its good for towing it,s not in the same class as the Paj with its superior body weight,I know a lot of mig owners will ddisagree witjh me but it,s my opinion having owned and towed with both. Can,t comment on other 4x4s but I,m sure there are a lot of non farmers who will read this who can give good reason for owing a 4x4 Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

I'm with you on that. The fact that so many people are prepared to lumber around in them these days I find difficult to understand.

Not 4x4 as in "any good in the snow" though, unfortunately. They are only 4x4 to cover up how dire a FWD car would be with that amount of grunt IMHO. My neighbour had one and managed to knacker the front suspension when he skidded into a curb on snow.  Roll Eyes

Depends how you define "perform". For me? 0-60 significantly below 10 seconds, top speed comfortably over 120. Decent amount of agility on the twisty roads, low road noise, comfy ride, fuel consumption at an affordable level (high 20's on petrol, say), able to tow 1.5 tonnes without flinching...

Unless I absolutely needed to drive through a muddy field on a regular basis it's Omega all the way, otherwise I'd have to sacrifice most of the above. Wink

i would never give up the omega for a 4 x 4 as i think it is a great car..need a 4 x 4 for where we live on top of two great wacking hills that the highways agency  quiet by accident forget to salt. every year.so i don't need a fully fledged 4 x 4 although yep body weight etc is a bounus but only problem is we dont need anything that big  Thumbs Up!

If you wan't a good cheap small 4x4 get a fiat panda 4x4 they never get stuck.
Ive seen one in a race up a steep muddy hill against all the bigger 4x4's for a bet and won.
