read the manual and see what the different tell tales are for & you won't confuse a red charge light with an orange EML light.  Thumbs Up!

Don't you bother reading what people reply? You don't seem to! Yet again your in headless chicken mode.

Read & digest what people have said!

I quote from a previous post which you 'replied' to but just went on about your mileage and did not answer any of the questions:

Quote:
The sensor are known to be very reliable and most faults related to this are usually found to be damaged wiring on the sensor.

How about you answer KneePads question, before you go around in circles, again!  Angry

the problem is, you've not even confirmed the fault yet and your already asking people to replace it for you!? You want to find the fault first, just because the car throws a code, that does no instantly mean its correct. Often far from it!

so you mean, the knock sensor or its wiring could be ok and it could be someat else? even though it throws up error code 16?

Its more likely the wiring, hence KneePad's original question

okay, message understood

and before you shout again, woud HG gaskey failure or loss of coolant cause the EML to come on, im just asking!
my lights are also very low in brightness compared to what they used to be, though the knock sensor wiring could cause electrical fault such as this?

Ever heard the phrase crawl, before you walk, before you run?

As said, follow the hints and tips given before flying off the handle, yet again, and thinking that a wee cut on your thumb is actually a severence of your head from your shoulders....     Wink   Thumbs Up!

Wayne - check the wiring for signs of physical damage between the cable tray across front of cambelt cover down to behind alternator - its a thin coax, much like a thin mic cable.

Usual place is its rubbed aux belt, or got trapped somewhere during work being down.

You don't need to?  Undecided

The cable tray across the front of the cambelt cover, check that first, follow it down to the alternator. You don't need to jack the car up...
