Sudden Loss Of Clutch Pressure
12. Jan 2011 at 18:41

Over the last year or so my omega start loosing clutch pressure but 3 weeks ago I bled the clutch and the clutch was fine again, Today on the way home from work it started to loose the clutch pressure again and by the time I got home all pressure had gone, I bled the clutch again but this time it made no difference, would I be right in thinking that the slave cylinder has failed, The clutch master cylinder seems fine no signs of any leaks from inside the car and also from in the engine bay and the clutch lines all look okay.

Thanks

What about underneath? Any fluids dripping from the bellhousing?

How are you bleeding it?

Underneath as far as I can see is fine, but it is raining here today so I am unable to see if there are any fluids dripping from the bellhousing due to this, as for bleeding I have tried both a pressure bleeder and the conventional two man way.

Thanks.

When mine failed it was sudden and was caused by the flexible hose failing.

Advice I had at the time was that the concentric slave cylinders almost never fail (mine was still good at 200,000 miles).

If you have no visible leaks then I would suggest that your master cylinder has failed.

Thanks for your help, I have ordered up a master cylinder for now as it isn't too expensive to see if it cures the problem.

When you say pressure bleeding do you mean from the brake master cylinder and bleed it out underneath the car?

Do you have any updates? I have the same problem and it's the cold that's stopping me.  Embarrassed
I do  have fluid pouring from the bell housing! I can blead it and get maybe 4 good pumps out of it but after that.... Nothing!!!! Angry
