Please tell me I am missing something obvious

2.5 V6 98 plate. Big misfire, water in plugs 4 & 6, removed plugs and leads cleaned, dried and refitted, now it refuses to start. Plugs, leads and coil pack were replaced last year. Turns over fine, spark evident as well as petrol, replaced crank sensor - no joy. What is going on? Have raised this issue already and tried everything suggested but I must be missing something basic. Even with the misfire it would start and run on 4 cylinders, not now.  Sad

Daft question I know, but you DID remove ALL the water from the plug orifices BEFORE removing the plugs didn't you? Undecided

The tip I was told to do was to remove all the spark plugs get someone to look in engine bay. turn the car over and see if any water comes out the spark plug holes. When I did mine 4 was like a fountain.  Cry Cry

Will check tomorrow, SWMBO is going shopping, my orders are 'get it sorted'!  Shocked
Plugs leads are numbered both ends, all water was gone from the plug wells, have checked as many connections as possible but as said will check all again. Thanks for the responses.  Thumbs Up!

Do a paperclip test (see the link at the bottom of my post) and post back the results.

Will repeat test tomorrow but when I did it a short while ago all I got was a code for the oxygen sensor and the engine not running.  Undecided

Fixed it  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Coil pack, which was new last year, was the problem, put a new one on and the beast started first time. I am one happy bunny!  Grin Grin
Tried it with the new pack sat on the plenum so now all I have to do is fit it properly and off we go.
Thanks to all the oofers who helped with their suggestions.  Thumbs Up!
