Carpet fitter and builder vans with all sorts of crap on the back step, hit a bump or turn a corner and all the crap, including nails and screws spread all over the road. Industrial estates are bad with those big tipper biffa bins, not all the rubbish gets into the back of the truck. Driving on unused bits of road, like near islands or hard shoulders and central reservations etc.

Apparently most punctures occur in the last 1/3 of a tyres life. Which is bollox ime, they always come in at least twos, which means there WILL be a third and always always ALWAYS in the first quarter or a brand new tyres life and never when the bloody tyre needs changing anyway. Doh! Angry

So yes, I feal for you.  Cry.    Wink

Shocked You know your stuff on tyres Chris!  You didn't mention though that regardless of how wide your tyres are, personal experience confirms 50% of nails end up in the "shoulder" rendering the tyre nackered! Embarrassed

I wish you'd entitled your post 'Punctures', I can't open a 'tyres' thread without having the samaritans on standby.

Question is, do falkens get more or less punctures than other makes:D

falkens are rubbish i wouldnt waste your money on them.try nankang, nokian if you want budget tyres as there the best of the cheep cos you will get good mileage and handling out of both and with vx wheels make sure when you get tyres fitted they clean the beads with a wire bruch and bead seal them cos 90% of vx punctures i do at work are bead leeks where the wheels rot from the moisture in the aie in the tyre

Yup, PIA.

Few months ago I got 4 new tyres fitted all round only for one to get a severe puncture 2 weeks later.  At least they should wear evenly I suppose.
