hi all the omega has a slight tapping noise i bought some hydrolic lifter stuff but its still there car drives great but when cold thats when its worse is there any other stuff to buy and try like an oil aditive? the bloke i got car from said its always been like it and told me not to worry as all the car service up to date is done by vauxhall car has done 67,000 and next service not due till 75,000 Thumbs Up!

Jan 2011 at 11:26 hi gb my 2.5 had a tapping noise and i used lifter treatment to no avail it actually was the exhaust manifold gasket starting to go, so have a look there

Jan 2011 at 11:33 8000 miles between services I've done mine twice in that time I would suggest a couple of quick oil changes before worrying about it

On the subject of oil the single best thing you can do for your V6 is frequent oil changes ignore what the service spec says. VX semi synthetic oil and filters bought on trade club cheap as chips.
