if a 3 litre v6 jumps a couple of teeth om the cam belt whats the chances of valve damage?.its ronning as rough as hell and weve checked every sensor and the coil pack and plugs and leads and everythings working as it should.and te belt jumping is all that it can be and it sounds tappy from the top end

I think the consensus is that the belt has to skip 3 teeth before valves meet pistons (but don't quote me.....).

Both the Omegas I have owned have sounded a little tappety when cold so may be nothing to worry about (unless some valves are bent and have big clearances as a result).

First step has to be to take the bagpipes, auxiliary belt and cambelt cover off. Wind the engine round to TDC and check that the timing marks on the cam pulleys are aligned with the marks on the rear cambelt cover.

It is poss to bend the valves at 2 teeth belt jump and it also depends on what engine speed it jumped at, so yes you may have top end damage. Sad

What's the belt history? When is it due?

Not too bad a job to check the timing marks.

Could post a video with audio....?

Yes, if the top end has been rattling as a result the prognosis isn't good, I'm afraid.

returning to the OP, have you made sure that the cam sensor plug is actually connected to the cam sensor itself ?

"voltage too high" is signifying that the ecu is receiving maybe 12V when it's expecting 5V, which could be because it's plugged into the wrong place. Look at the wires and compare to the colours in the wiring diagram.

If valves are bent, just replace the heads complete with second hand parts. There's always cars being broken here, & I'm sure it wouldn't be that expensive to put right.
