Throttle pedal ...........
16. Jan 2011 at 15:29

I've not used my Mig for some months, but took her out for a good spin today.

However, I noticed that the accellerator pedal has a huge amount of play before anything happens - like about an inch or more. Also, kickdown don't work - which I'd thought was the switch.

before I go to the hassle/cost of replacing the cable/switch assembly, is there anything else that it could be?

Thanks - Rob

Check cable for slack, if so adjust it by the throttle butterflys by removing the retaining clip by the mounting clamp, pull the cable sheath towards the bulk head until there is no excess slack (you want a small amount) before replacing the clip to maintain the adjustment

Thanks - could that explain why kickdown isn't working?

I would agree whole heartedly with RobG...had some play in a past Omega...put up with it for 6 months before investigating...after adjusting the cable correctly I instantly had the full power that the car was meant to have and it responded better too...the little clip had come off

Did your kickdown work before you adjusted the cable?
