Jan 2011 at 20:44 hi all, I'm getting a coolant level warning in the car, but the level in the expansion tank looks good. anything else I should be checking? I can't see any kind of level sensor in the expansion tank??? thanks.

The float switch is hidden under a dome inside the expansion tank.

There is an electrical connector on the underside of the tank. Some people have reported the plug coming loose and giving a false reading.

If the float switch is at fault it cannot (easily) be separated from the tank so the quick fix is to buy a new expansion tank (about £35 new apparently)

Not sure what retail price is?. Easy to get a trade card. and you will save a fortune over time. Just join Autobahnstormers.co.uk (cost £20 last year) but you can easy save that over the next couple of trips to VX
