I don't understand why so many people moan about Ryanair. There may well be valid complaints about service/charges, but if you don't like them, don't fly with them. No one's forcing you. Wink

The fact, though, is that many, many people do fly with Ryanair each year, and I don't see much evidence of them losing customers. Furthermore, they fly to a significant number of destinations which other airlines do not serve so no Ryanair, no go. The customer's choice.  Wink

i do agree they fly to many destinations that others don't but unfortunately in my opinion that doesn't let other airlines compete in a limited market, since they've been flying to salzburg austrian airlines has stopped flying to the u.k from there which whilst it may be great for those in the first year or so but try and find a return flight under 120 euro, i would rather pay the 160 for austrian airlines and fly with a bit of service but now have no choice in the matter.

BA fly LGW-SZGThumbs Up!

i believe that's only in winter!! Thumbs Up!

According to a quick search at www.fly.com - Ryanair, Air Berlin, Lufhansa, Austrian Airlines and British Airways all fly from one of the London airports to Salzburg.. But only Ryanair and BA fly direct  (all year, though - I was looking for a date in July)  Thumbs Up!

Although Ryanair are £107 before fees and BA are £268..

Ryanair are complete and utter shite. I, for one, am never going to fly with them again, my family and I nearly missed our flight last year due to their lack of organisation and incompetence. We had to literally run across the tarmac to catch our flight with two very young kids in tow, and when you're on the plane, the experience is not much better Angry

I know they're cheap, but I'll pay the extra next time

Snap

I will NEVER fly with them again and I had exactly the same experience.

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

Depends if there is a choice.

Also RA do some very strange rules, I am surprised they don't charge for toilets (IF I was in a position I would pee in the aisle)

you may have spoken too soon  Shocked

"Value" airline?

Hmm.

At the end of the day, it comes down to a balance between convenience and money. If you want to save the latter, expect less of the former (and for them to try and claw back as much of the latter as they can in extras).

Different people are at different ends of the balance. Personally, I find my time off is precious to me and if it takes me half my holiday for my blood pressure to settle after the journey out, it's wasted. Worth a few quid to get treated like a human rather than herded like an animal, IMHO.

Accordingly, I wouldn't touch Ryanair. I've sampled Easyjet once or twice and, frankly, after being delayed for hours then watching them bicker at the door to the aircraft for an extra 20 quid from a passenger who had the audacity to expect to take her handbag onto the aircraft, they'd only be considered again for short hops where I'm saving plenty.
