my mate works for a bloke with 2 trucks and he has just been told his old one is being replaced with a new o6 model so he has to get a digi card.no proplem with that but he cant find out how long he has to keep the print outs for,are they like the old charts that you have to keep for a month? or can you throw them away? or do you not need them as its on the card?

Hi R1,If you take a printout at the end of your shift then it has to be kept the same as the old style chart, its classed as a legal document,i only take a printout if any irregularities have occured during my last shift ie incorrect mode use or say any over run of driving time due to unforseen circumstances, then write on back of printout explaining reason this will cover you then in the event of a VOSA inspection, hope this helps i,m certainly no expert but the company i work for are spot on with tachos and hours and i,ve had no major infringements in last 18mths Thumbs Up!
