thanks Banjax.. its an old city really.. known history goes more than 10K years..  and take the capitol position from İstanbul in 1923 after the young republic kicked the ottoman dynasty.. which some power centers and religious masses dont accept and try to continue the debate..

Wife and I tried to visit Bodrum last October but got rained off.  They couldn't even dock the ferry at Kos so we got our money back.  Ankara would have been a bit too far for a day trip but maybe some time Smiley!
