slightly off topic i know but my shed sometimes throws up a low oil level on the mid during a good run at motorway speeds  Wink Wink ( NO oil presure light or rattles from the engine / engine runs sweet )

5 mins after you have slowed down, the light disapears

pull over and the dipstick shows oil at least half way up the stick.
anything below 60 mph and you get no problem.

i've had the sump off
oil pickup was clean so i just cleaned the level sensor and put it back together.  still the same problem  Sad

any idea's welcome

Put some more oil in Wink

At high speed the oil gets hotter and thinner... If the level is about halfway or below this can cause the light to come on. The level check is a little over-sensitive IMO but better the "false" readings than not getting them when needed Smiley Wink

Now on constantly despite oil level being full. Possible faulty sensor or wiring fault. Anyone know were the wiring runs to and can it be replaced if faulty. cheers in advance

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine
