Problem removing starter motor
09. Feb 2011 at 22:45

Starter motor is busted on my 2.5, so I got under car to remove, struggled with top bolt and then realised my problems had only just begun!

Trying to remove started from car seems impossible as there is not enough clearance to manouver it free, there appears to be an engine mounting in the wrong place restricting movement!

Is there a trick to manouvering it clear from the car or will I have to remove the engine mount?

Any suggestions appreciated.

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

Just been thinking this one through and before I begin tonight and start throwing spanners around the garage floor in frustration........................

I'm presuming the engine mounts both sides have to be unbolted, is there any other work required before the starter can be removed?

any advice welcome.
