I am in the process of changing the plugs on my 2.6. Got bank 1,3,5 done no problems. Started on 2,4,6. I have just removed the coil pack to find all 3 wells full of oil! How do I get the oil out of the wells before changing the plugs. HELP!!

Help much appreciated

syringe,
rolled up kitchen roll dunked in
synthetic chamois dunked in and squeezed out etc.

Then do your cam cover gaskets, and clean the breathers etc  Thumbs Up!

an old syringe with a bit of washer tubing grafted on will suck out the oil but you need to raplace the cam cover seals and clean the breathers to prevent a re-occurrence

must type faster Grin

You only need to get "most" of it out ... if a small amount goes past the plug as you remove it, it won't matter.

Even though you need to do the breathers and cover gaskets soonest .. don't rush the job .. genuine Vx gaskets ONLY and use the guide to do the job. First time will take most of a day IME .. gets down to 1/2 a day when you know what you are doing !!

Thanks guys my mate came up with a syringe and we got most of it out. TBH I don't know when the plugs were last changed, never I think and the oil in the wells was black. With coil pack put there was no obvious signs where the oil was coming from, the breathers have already been done last week when I changed the oil. I will add the gaskets to my list of things to do, it seems to be getting longer, lol. Thanks again to the best forum on the net!!

Don't leave the gasket change too long raymond or else you run the risk of oil damaging the plug caps & causing more expense!  Thumbs Up!
