Found bucket full of oil in plugs well Cry. Can anyone advise whether this is the proverbial final nail seeing as overheat was experienced. Cry

No. as it is probably the most favourite fault on an Omega;  leaking cam cover gaskets!

Straightforward to replace, along with a thorough clean of the breather system throughout Wink Wink

Like the Lovely Lizzie has already said it is your cam covers but this wont be to do with the car over heating I'm afraid Sad

The oil prob was the second found well after overheating experienced, and thought it was there when OH occured.
I was'nt aware of the oil in wells untill earlier today when I went to do compression test to investigate how bad overheating had affected engine  before stripping head.

I needed to know how and what caused this additional prob as I did not fig on R C as I was thinking maybe seals had gone or by some other avenue (cracked head) Questioning

My thinking is obviously flawed so if you can expalin further as I was considering engine is now completely U CryS and therefore need to move on Undecided
