Feb 2011 at 07:17 hi all does my 99 2.5 mfl require the carbon pollen filter? it has climate and i recently changed the filter but it was a flimsy white thing (cheap) and it didnt look like the one i took out, but that one was filthy. the reason i am asking is that the windscreen has started misting up at the bottom checked scuttle drain and that is clear tia

Not a requirement........personal choice as to whether you fit one

Feb 2011 at 07:49 Its the full facelife that need the carbon filter as they have air quality sensors. That said, Ive only fitted the carbon ones to our older cars as well, for a few quid more, they may help reduce smells that little bit further.

In your case, I doubt it, seeing as the smell comes from within the car....
