vauxhall omega 2.2 p1130 fault code problem
05. Mar 2011 at 23:02

hello, wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction of a fault on my 2001 omega 2.2 auto..having had fault codes p0170 (fuel trim bank 1 malfuction) along with p0420(catalyst efficiency above threshold c-31)ive replaced the exhaust manifold(which had warped)new gasket fitted, cleaned breather and throttle body which has now cleared both codes...now however, once the car has warmed up,p1130(o2 sensor)brings the eml on.ive changed the sensor after the cat with a genuine part suitable for this model with auto transmission.live data reading taken from the car when running show o2b1s2 reading zero ,whilst the other o2 sensor is showing various readings..the maf has also been changed and is working as is should...one thing i have noticed,is when the car is started up first thing in the morning,it runs unevenly for a few seconds, ive checked the spark plug pots for oil,all bone dry, replaced the spark plugs.would a knackered cat be causing this p1130 code,or are my problems even worse?any help on the matter would be great...

Hello and welcome to the forum Smiley

sounds like your having fun with the car Roll Eyes Roll Eyes tell us a bit more about it how old is the car whats service history like, are these ongoing problems or have they all happened at once?

Also may help if you post up a rough idea of where your from ND maybe a local member could have a closer look Thumbs Up!

hi,in huddersfield,i only bought the omega in nov 2010,problems started from the word go,service history consists of a fully up to date stamped book, thats all,no invoices...having owned cavaliers for the last 20 years, and having a similar problem on the last cav ecotec i owned,i thought ide have this similar problem on the omega sorted no problem, but its just not playing ball.as soon as engine warms up,eml comes on,then autobox wont change gear till 4000 revs, all i do at mo is pull over, reset eml ,then car drives lovely for next 20 miles,lol..

Not saying that it is but the CAM sensor seems to be fairly suspect on the 2.2 and when its on its way out it throws up loads of bollocx strange codes Thumbs Up! If it does turn out to be this only replace with a GENUINE sensor purchased from a dealer snidey auction site ones don't appear to last. Thumbs Up!

Who cleaned the breathers and did the other work you mentioned Questioning

all the work carried out ive done myself, even bought an autel code reader as i dont enjoy paying someone a fortune to plug it in and guess whats wrong..the cars done 82000 so yeah, could well be the cam sensor on its way out,and yes a genuine one will be in order,as ive found out in the past, vauxhalls do not like aftermarket sensors..once the car has run lumpy for a few seconds from cold,it drives nice,20mpg around town n late 30s on motorway..

If you have changed the MAF then I would also guess cam or crank sensor, I have had similar problems on 2 4 pots, one was the cam the other was the crank Roll Eyes I do not know about the codes though, on both occasions I put the cars into an auto electrical place to have them sorted... Embarrassed Roll Eyes Roll Eyes  Once done though, no further problems in some years.. Thumbs Up!

Mine always runs lumpy for the first few minutes of a cold start, I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh, are there any leaks on the exhaust system at all? Undecided

yeah, all the gear indicators light up fine,s button and winter mode work fine 2...right,if sensor 2 is after cat, thats a brand new one fitted 2 weeks ago,so looks like i need sensor 1,its looks new, however it does look like an aftermarket one,as the lead is far to long..
