I have a droaing noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel area. I have replaced the disc/pads and shoes as I thought it was a warped disc however this has made no difference.

Next I thought it was the wheel bearing, but there appears no play in the wheel so I dont think its that, so that leads me to the drive shaft.

Is there just one size fits all or does each model have a different type as Ive been looking on e-bay at used ones just to try as dont want to spend a fortune on one if that is not the problem????

The driveshafts are pretty bulletproof TBH Edited: Just because there's no play in the bearing doesn't mean it's not dry and on it's way out

Wheel bearings noise is easy to check. When you reach the speed at which the noise begins, just quickly turn the steering wheel to both sides, to make the car swinging. If the noise dissapears, it's definitely the wheel bearing. When you suddenly turn the car, the load is being put to one side and the bearing of the opposite side turns easily and makes no noise. It means, if the noise dissapears when turning left it's the left side wheel bearing and vice versa. Sorry for my English

Well I have already noticed that the noise gets louder/quieter depending on which way u are Turing I.e.. Going round a roundabout, plus if u jack it up and turn the wheel by hand you can hear the noise almost straight away!......like I said I originally thought it was the disc because of this!

How easy is it to change the bearings and anyone got a rough idea of price to buy one??
