Not sure where you're from but we have a Vellocette Dealer/Parts/ Refurber by us. Seymours shop in Thame, Oxfordshire has Vellocette Venoms and Thruxton Vellocettes on display. Different world back then with de-compressors and kick-start at TDC.  Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

A friend of mine has a 1950's Manx Norton. Its mega exhaust pipe well I need to turn down my hearing aid when he kicks her in  Grin
Young'uns think everything like these chain oilers are new but it isn't. Ed's Manx has it, the oil is actually in the frame with a tap to drip out the oil onto the chain.

Oh,oh, me, me, me! Lol! I LOVE bikes, my first love! There is nothing else that gives me the feeling that a bike gives, I only feel really "alive" when out on my bike. Have had loads of bikes over the years, with my early years all mostly strokers, but my R1 is all the bike I wanted in 30 years, just an outstanding piece of machinery! Still have my old RD400 too, which is getting a makeover, lol. You always have to have an old stroker stashed away somewhere lol!

Yes I can see some merit in your distrust of car drivers, but to suggest that the riders of motorcycles are wholly without blame for RTC's involving them (as it appears you are) is somewhat misplaced in my view.

I see many motorcycle riders who drive responsibly but sadly I also see many who drive irresponsibly by displaying impatience and using excess speed in the most inappropriate places - rather like many car drivers.

Got some trips planned this year Isle of Man TT, might be doing Scotland two week tour in May, but thats uncertain now  Undecided

You must be a very muscular man to ride that Tunnie, it looks enormous Shocked
Not sure I would buy a BMW myself, but then I am still happy with my old Vello Thumbs Up!

Your could not be further from the truth!  Grin

I'm tall at 6ft4/5 ish, but very skinny, weigh bang on 12 stone now.

I borrowed a Yam XJ6 after I passed, silky smooth engine, but it felt like a monkey bike really, far, far too small. Had shoulder ache within just 20 mins, not a fan of the streaming engine.

Prefer the low-reving torque of the 1200 boxer, to be honest I do struggle with the weight, its about 210kgs, when its fully fueled, got the panniers and camping gear on it can be a struggle to get it off the side stand!  Embarrassed

But once rolling, weight disappears and it becomes a very nimble bike for its size, not everyones cup of tea but I love it  Smiley

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

My head has decided that I am selling my bike in the near future. However, it should be back on the road this weekend, and once ive had a couple of rides on it my heart may well overrule the head for another summer. Roll Eyes Smiley
Love that R1 btw Daisy. Ridden a few and always wanted to own one before hanging up my helmet, but dont think its going to happen now. Might be just as well I suppose, as I now need my licence to get to work. Roll Eyes

I was the same too.  I was asking myself "Why am I on this heap of sh*t ?" before I had even gone a 100 yds on the test ride, but a few miles later I realised I was actually starting to like it. Shocked

Tho' I suspect the fact that it's now bored out from 883 to 1200 and dyno'd, with N4 cams, S.E II pipes, an 8,000rpm S.E ignition module and re-worked heads may have something to do with it still giving 'the grin factor' after being used to the performance of even standard tune jap 'plastic fantastics'.
Handles ok for a 'two wheeled tractor' too, but getting my 'knee-down' on it would be closely followed by an elbow and an ear hole.  Grin

Aah that's the one to quicken my pulse - it seems to defy logic but there it is, a machine and rider leaning at a crazy angle but yet able to sustain it and come out the other side ready for more. Kiss Kiss

Heady stuff.

Not at all a tired old pic Chris. Its a great reminder of what biking is all about in its purest form. And probably a clue to you probably being a pretty quick rider. Wink.....preffered the one with both wheels off the ground myself (Cadwell?) Wink

True, and so do I, Roll Eyes but a knee down whilst on a Harley IS guaranteed to start the 'Earth....Sky....Earth....Sky....Earth....Sky.....Ambulance' sequence   Grin

That's an excellent photo, by the way ! Thumbs Up!

Quick? Not on that day. That's taken at Almeria in Spain in Feb on an ACU license holders only track day, often used by BSB/MRO level riders and teams for pre season testing due to the drier climate, plus there was local race on at the circuit the following werkend. I and several other track day regulars where very much in the way on that occassion. Of note, Superdtock rider, at the time, Brendon Roberts was on track along with one of the BSB privateers and Ian Cobby also.

I learned alot, mostly that the difference between "Quick" riders and the pro's is Massive, really is! A different planet in fact.

Heres the Cadwell pic Albs. Thumbs Up!
