So i'm wondering if there's any sensors relays or fuses for the transmission on a 2001 Catera Sport outside of the tranny. I replaced the tranny on mine since the sport light kept coming on and it was giving me a code for a sensor inside of it. The sensor seemed to be priced at 2-400 depending on where i saw it and a refurbished tranny was 450. Long story short I replaced it and the light keeps coming on.

I've read about a possible bad contact on the fuses under the steering wheel. If so how can I make a good contact? I was thinking of just putting some tape over the fuses and making sure that it's snug but i've been procrastinating.

Any advice is appreciated.

where is the selector switch located?

I presume you have the same Transmission Control Units as us Brits, in which case, the switch is a simple switch circuit to ECU, and the light is also a simple circuit. No complications there - the ECU monitors what the switch is doing and decides whether or not to turn the light on (and go to sports mode).

I think I'd be putting a meter around the switch (or disconnecting it, to prove) initially
