Why, oh why, has everybody continued with this practice (which was vaguely amusing some time ago) of changing and re-changing forum names, status and the like ?

My grip on the real world is tenuous, to say the least, at the best of times. When I pop into this "alernative reality" I like to see some stability ... which is fast disappearing  Undecided

I will admit zee's was the latest I have noticed, but many have changed ( and some changed back) over the last few months. And there seem to be a few who are the figment of someone's imagination, who appear, do a bit of flaming, then disappear.

I am just getting too old and senile  Undecided

i'm with you on this, why bother changing it!? Gets very confusing, as long as they keep the same avatar its ok/ish!

Can it be disabled so only the admins can have that feature?  Undecided

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

I have never changed my name since it was given too me when I was a young man. I was in a number of blue films you see, so at that time was very apt.
Cheers

As I'll be collecting the pension on my 60th birthday in a few months time I've decided that it's now appropriate to consign the person I was as Zulu into the history book.

I've been obliged to identify with the Zulu persona for so long now - 39 years now between military and police service - I need a change to get away from that mindset and the experiences of what has gone before.

I've been associated with the state for so long now it's going to be very difficult to let go - but let go I must, so it's time to lighten up and let the next group of hopefuls take up the challenge.

Insofar as this Forum is concerned a change of name is a small but essential step on my way to achieving this desire.

In my short time within this forum I have got some respect for a few members, Entwood being one, DD (love those initials by the way) being the other. I take my hat off to you Sir, serving for that long in no doubt dangerous circumstances, keeping people like myself safe.
Hang up your gloves my friend and enjoy your free time to its max.

God Bless You.
Ray.  Thumbs Up!

Zee, I have no objection to your name change -- nor any others that have, for their own reasons changed persona.  It's the random changes that have been happening for no other reason than mischief. Some, I believe, not brought about by the actual member involved.

It's just something that has been knawing away of late, and being the very recent victim of viral gastro- enteritis, on top of everything else, my patience is veneer thin.

You are correct Lizzie. Just that this particular itch needed a scratch !

My thoughts at the moment are to go and concentrate on the greater things in General Life and forget the forum.
