Hairline crack,closes up when hot.Can this be welded without removing?

Very doubtful you would be able to weld it up in situ, who's to say it's not cracked underneath as well as where you can see it?
Usually the manifold gasket fails, are you sure it's not that?

Definetly a crack.If I,ve got to remove might as well get a replacement.
