Is my car trying to tell me something?
04. Apr 2011 at 00:27

The last month has seen the following motoring incidents:

1. Car gets reversed into. Angry
2. Engine swallows a spark plug core. Shocked
3. Car gets repaired, new bonnet and bumper etc. Thumbs Up!
4. Am now unable to get bonnet open, back to repairer on Monday. Angry
5. Engine pulls like a train, yet won't idle properly and intermittently runs like a bag of gutless bolts. Angry
6. Has had new plugs and coil packs to no avail. Angry
7. Lost count of the number of times the plenum has been off whilst looking for an air leak. Angry
8. Air con condenser has been replaced, just needs a re gas. Thumbs Up!
9. HBV just started leaking, 2nd one in 60k. Undecided
10. To cap it all, o/s/f wishbone is getting soft after 6k. Angry

Could I ever forgive myself if I gave up and chopped it in?  Undecided

Thinking either a white VXR8 manual, insurance permitting, or a 4x4 Insignia. Undecided

Perhaps Emu, but even on five cylinders, it's closer to having a proper engine than a desmond. Wink

All the frustrations melt away on a good piece of road when everything is just right. Cool

Trouble with that is that not all the punters are appreciative. One chap yesterday said that it was a very smooth and comfortable car, and for a diesel it's alot quieter than most of the cabs he'd been in. Undecided

I hope he was p!55ed.  Roll Eyes
