hey im new to this forum. I'm considering buying an omega elite, 3lt v6 estate. Whats your opinion on this car? Thumbs Up!

Try to find one with some service history & check when the cambelt kit & waterpump was last done. Big job, 40k or 4 years.

Hope you find a good'un & we want piccies when you do, Guy. Thumbs Up!

If the seller can't prove a cambelt change it gives you some leverage to negotiate the price downwards by several hundred pounds Thumbs Up!

True enough Tony. Also folk on here can help out with cambelt changes so argue the point with any seller. Tell him the 4 year 40k rule.

Let him know you know. Also check he's used good semi synthetic oil & pink antifreeze/coolant...NOT BLUE!!! Thumbs Up!

Before you go have a long read of this thread ...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687

Learn how to do it, and what the lights mean, as well as all the other dashboard lights. It is, unfortunately, fairly common for some folks to remove bulbs in order to mask faults. ... if the EML light is not working ... walk away....  Thumbs Up!

If the seller won't let you check .....  walk away  Thumbs Up!

If the check shows up any codes ...  have a serious think ......
