Blew SAi AGAIN (Read 560 times)

immortal Newbie Offline Posts: 45 Drives: Omega Elite 2.5 V6	Blew SAi AGAIN 06. Apr 2011 at 11:52 Hi, Blew my SAI pipe again.Had to order one in from Vx and wait 4 days last time. Anybody know where would stock one in today? Or would black electrical tape do the job? Matt

Apr 2011 at 11:54 If its the small rubber pipes then its blowing for a reason.....either a centre exhaust section or a cat is blocked.

It has only blew as i have just been down the motorway and gave it a bit of a thrash. Felt very quick and was easily flying past 80 70ish Matt

Apr 2011 at 11:58 No easy way as the pressure is causing hot gases to pass through the pipe (which would not normaly happen).

Yes, you can remove the whole SAI system and block the feeds to the manifolds with no ill effects at all. (as long as you leave some load on the solenoid output of the ECU)

But... Where would the gases from the blocked exhaust go then? Wink

The SAI problems are the symptom here.
