Which Alternator for 2.6 Y26SE

Is it the 120A version?
Mines a CDX, so not quite as electrified as an Elite, but still pretty thirsty for amps I would have thought.

Regards,

Graham.

Hi,
For 2002 model i'm sure it will be Bosch XA 120.

The earlier model, PU120 can be fitted but is a bit more awkward as less clearance to exhaust manifold heat shield.

It will be the 140A I suspect.

Sadly, the later alternators are not nearly as reliable as the earlier 120A ones.

Is it noisey bearings or has the rectifier given up the ghost.

Bearing changes are pretty straight forward to do and the regs can be sourced adn are easy enough to fit.

I'm not sure that mine is O/S just yet. I have a battery drain problem, which I have not been able to solve. It could of course be an Alt problem, maybe not. I agree that a rebuild is an easy and effective repair, however, a correct spare alternator at the right price, is even easier. Particularly, as we frequently travel to France with our main car and you don't see hardly any Vauxhall/Opels over there!

Thanks for your help folks!

Graham.
