Had the omega into vauxhall today do a full service an upon picking it up they said the ride height on the rear was to high ??? they said I could book it in to be re set at a cost of £175 plus vat, is this right or are they just taking the Mick lol, I presume you can probably adjust it yourself as it's air assisted ??.... Dealers are a nightmare

How high is the back end? Measure it from say the ground to the highest part of the arc of the rear wheelarch and post that up here.

Sounds to me like work at your local stealers is a bit slack this week and they are dreaming up work..as previously requested ,measure up fron the ground through center of wheel to center of arch.

Do this with the engine off first as pump won,t be engaged and then do it again with the engine running to see the height difference with the pump inflating the suspension bellows.

Neede 2 sets of measuremenst and we can advise further.

Been looking into this problem for 6 weeks now.

My opinion so far is VX stealers don't know much  Angry Angry

Rear springs set the rear ride height.  Wrong springs = wrong ride height in my opinion.

VX changed the rear springs on my Elite MV6 for the previous owner & it sits at 690mm .  With the front being 660mm  Looks ugly (imo)

Measure yours &  post em up  as suggested Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!

Nathan.

Those measurements are spot on and exactly the same as mine, which has recently had a complete overhaul with new springs/shocks.

I wouldn,t be using that VX Stealer again..they are talking crap.

Total agreement with Amba -  your measurements seem spot on -  steer clear of that VX dealer if I were you Nathan

I would be tempted to ring them & ask what the height should be. Bet they don't Know Angry Angry Angry

Wouldn,t waste the time ringing them,as they clearly don,t know what level the car should be sitting at.

Confirmed by several other owners of identical cars as yours.

Yours is spot on correct..don,t worry about it any more.

Anyway i did call........

They said it should be ????? your right they did not know lol, anyway they quoted

During the colder months of the year the suspension tends to be lower which if not corrected could result in the car being unstable and they recommend it be corrected at a vauxhall garage  Grin

Should have asked em how they were going to correct it when they don't know what it is.
Honestly you couldn't make it up.

By inserting folded £20 notes into their tills I suspect ... Sad

Actually .. I really wish some numpty would try and spin me a yarn like that ... I'd have tremendous fun with the "follow up " questions....   all logged and then taken to Trading Standards ...  Smiley

Bit like the Honda garage a few years back who got all upset when I asked to borrow their phone so I could call the police and report them for fraud ... which was said loudly in font of half a dozen folks waiting in the queue .... manager came out ...  was not happy ..until I pointed out the invoice for 9 pints of oil when the engine only held 5  ... he got even more upset when I said that if it wasn't fraud but a genuine mistake could I please have a new engine as his mechanics would have hydro-locked mine ......... and so it went on ....... and on .....  Smiley

(BTW ... service was done for "free" as a "gesture of good intent"  .. Smiley  )
