i couldnt understand why my v6 kept shredding its alternator belt till last night i decided to take the crank pulley off and found it had started to split,am talking the bit that the belt runs on was moving out towards the radiator, looks like the rubber damper between the two pieces had somehow lost grip on it,just wondered if anyone else had had this problem before?

Not personally, but have seen a dozen or so posts similar. It does happen. Rubber damping material disintegrates I believe.

Try the beakers in parts section....?
