Cam Belt Change Advice??
28. Apr 2011 at 23:05

I have a 2.2dti 16v (DIESEL)

It has now covered 55,700 miles and is on an 03 Plate

When should the cam belt be changed Mileage or Year??

The car has a full VX service history and they have never metioned anything about it yet?

Cheers
Simon

AFAIK ALL Vauxhalls with a cam belt should have it changed every 40 000 miles or 4 yrs which ever comes first.
So on a time basis yours should've been done years & years ago!  Shocked

All Omega petrols are belts, both common UK diesels (2.2 and 2.5) are chain.

Thanks for the advice, that puts my mind at rest.

Wondered why it didn't mention anything in the service book information.

So is there a time period involved with the timing chain at all??
